HOW TO STUDY (FOR ANYTHING:MOST SIMPLEST WAY POSSIBLE)

how to study tips

I believe in every question there is a map to direct you to an answer, so according to question, the major subject here is study. So let’s focus on a study first, study means your devotion of time and attention to gain knowledge in a particular subject and it also means a detailed investigation and analysis of a subject or situation, by any source or means for example book, internet, etc.

So according to the definition of study you have to devote your time and put all the attention in a particular subject or thing to study or to gain knowledge from it, so you definitely have to love what you are studying, you need to have a vision of what knowledge you can gain from the subject you are studying or how the subject you are studying work’s in the real world and how it fits on your goal, then you going to love what you are doing, if you are loyal to your emotion of achieving  your goal, then you could continue this kind of intense study with great interest and happiness until you reach your goal.

And you need a source to gain knowledge about the subject you are studying, whatever it would be, it could be a book or you can also gain knowledge from the internet, you should cross check the source until you get convinced that the base is solid from where you are gaining your knowledge.

Understanding of a subject is the key to the study of anything; if you want to remember what you have studied you have to make sense of what you are studying by connecting dots of the previous concept of the subject because it’s difficult to remember if you can’t connect.

The study is a systematic process, in which you should always know about its origin before going into detail.

So in an academic study, your previous academic year concept should have cleared before moving on to the current one, because you are moving on to an advanced level of study in every academic year, you need to have base and pillars before building the house of knowledge in any particular subject.

Don't rush into more advanced material, without taking the time to master the core principles of whatever you're studying.

I gave you an example of how to study in the above paragraph by studying the question.

How to study smarter

how to study well and fast

After knowing how to study and applying the approaches you could know your own concentration power and limit of time you could put on in study, most people couldn’t concentrate to a long period of time you have to know the time span of your concentration by monitoring till how much time you could study with full concentration and then take a break when you start losing your focus on your study, when you get the exact time span of your undivided focus ability limit, you could divide your study hours by that lets say it’s 1 hrs so you could break it into 1 hrs of study period.

You should have a personal dedicated study room or the environment in which you regularly study because environment plays a lot of roles to set our mindset if you are not on an environment which fertile for your brain to grow, it's going to affect your will power to study something.

For example: if you going to study in the bedroom your mind is going to incline towards sleeping.

If you study in a particular dedicated area our brain is going to trigger a working mindset by sensing its environment and it's going to increase your efficiency on the study.

Most of the part of the study is fact or a concept, you should know what you are studying, for example: If you are studying about which is the most populated city in the world, it’s a factor if you study about how metro railways work in Tokyo, it’s a concept. The human mind forgets facts in times but it’s very easy to remember a concept if you understand it.

One of the best ways to remember concept is to explain it in your own words, if you explain somebody about a concept your brain is going to remember it as an event so if you can memorize some trigger word from that concept, whenever you want to remember that concept you have to bring those word in consciousness and that word going to trigger you the whole event.

Never highlight anything you previously studied on your book because your brain mistake that as a revision, but it’s not it’s a recognition and by recognition we think we already memorize everything, the best way to revise your study is to by closing your book or study material by explaining it to somebody or yourself this technique is known as Feynman technique or Active recall technique.

Always take active notes of what you study right after you lecture or study session what you understood in your own language.

You should teach what you learn to others, because if you can’t explain or teach a concept in a simple language then you also don’t understand it vividly.

You can also apply the SQ3R METHOD which is Survey Question Read Recite Review; this method was introduced by educational psychologist Francis P. Robinson in 1946.

Survey about your study what you are studying about by taking your chapter overview to become curious and then note the Question arising in your brain related to your study then Read so you could answer your questions, Recite by closing your book what you have learned from it and then Review by asking yourself a question what do you learn from that chapter or book.

You could use Mnemonics to study and memorize about facts, Mnemonic is a development of systems for assisting your memory but this only works in facts or formula.

For example, Some people have curly brown hair turned permanently black, phrase to memorize trigonometry formula is a Mnemonic.

I learn some of the study smarter approach from a Professor Marty Lob dell lecture and some of them are my own approach.

How to study well

how to study well for exams

Study well means to study in a good or satisfactory way by not harassing your mind in the nick time of your exam.

To study well you should make a strict schedule at the beginning of your academic year, and you should follow that schedule by not depending on your school, college or institution to finish the course or syllabus in time because they could fast forward some chapter in the last time of your academic year.

You should complete your syllabus before 3 months of your final exam because 3 months is enough to revise all subject if your concept is clear.

How to study for exams

Cal Newport an MIT graduate mention in his How to become a straight A Student book, that you don’t have to read everything of your syllabus, in fact, it’s impossible to read all pages of all your book for a person, you couldn’t read more than 5000 pages in a year.

So by knowing the pattern of asking a question for an exam and by categorizing the questions according to the portion of the syllabus from which most question are coming can lower your stress of studying the whole book.

So if you could cover 50-60 % of your syllabus by recognizing the portions with help of the previous year question paper patterns then you can definitely answer almost 80 % of the questions.

And if you have extra time does cover your entire syllabus but first, complete the important section of which you going to get by previous year question papers.
